Slavoj Zizek en Occupy Wall Street
An interesting, informative and yet entertaining presentation by one of the top intellectuals in the world. Take a listen
He makes a lot of good points. I totally agree when he says that in America, many have lost the capacity of looking for other alternatives. We need the red ink. It is the oppression from the 1% that has controlled media to oppress us to thinking there are no alternatives. No - into forgetting what alternatives are. We have forgotten how to dream. Also that it is not the protest that is so important, but the day after. Many people go to the OWS for the excitement but it is necessary to remember to continue to work for and participate in progress to actually create change for our system that has changed our motives in society. Our motives need to change to wanting to better the world, the environment, and the community from greed and corruption.
My favorite quote is "the true dreamers are the ones who think things can go on indefinitly the way they are"
